The ‘2010 CAIRSS Community Day’ went well last week with just under 100 delegates attending.
Representatives from 95% of CAUL institutions attended, as well as guest delegates from ARC, ANDS, NLA, ARMS, and CONZUL.
Thank you to all delegates for attending and making the event a true ‘community’ event.
PPT presentations from the day are now available on the CAIRSS website at: http://cairss.caul.edu.au/www/events/cairss_community_day_program_2010.htm.
Thank you to all the speakers for presenting and sharing their work.
Thank you also to all delegates who submitted a feedback form. This assists with planning for useful events to the community in future. If you still have a feedback form and want to submit it, just scan and email or post to Katy at USC.
Finally a big thankyou once again to Craig Anderson and Keely Chapman at RMIT for hosting the event.
CAUL is still progressing work on the decommissioning of ADT and info on new NLA theses display. CAUL will release this information soon.
The CAIRSS Repository Software Sandbox has been updated to include information on Fez. See: http://cairss.caul.edu.au/www/sandbox/sandbox.htm. Note this is a link to a hosted UQ demonstration system rather than a repository CAIRSS manages. Please contact Tim (CAIRSS Technical Officer) for log-in details.

The RSP group (similar to CAIRSS in the UK) recently held a ‘Doing it differently’ event which looked great. For your possible interest they have loaded some handouts and PPTs from the day at: http://www.rsp.ac.uk/events/index.php?page=DID1010/index.php.
Community member Julie Woodland pointed out a useful document, a RIN (Research Information Network) and OCLC comparative study on information-related support services for researchers in the UK and the US throughout the lifecycle of the research process. See Julie’s email to the CAIRSS elist at: http://groups.google.com/group/cairss/browse_thread/thread/76de65646f69bfc8.
